The 2026 Uniting US Community Artwork program is a bit different this year than past years. We are creating Symbols of Hope, through multiple purposeful engagements by collecting and using upcycled military uniform flag patches, badges, ribbons, medals, rank, buttons, and other pieces to build unifying messages of hope.
The collaborative community works are being assembled at multiple Uniting US events this year and donated military uniform items and other contributions are being collected at events and also via mail. We are looking for organizations that may be interested in collaborating on this initiative. Veterans and military groups, nonprofit organizations, businesses, communities, etc. are all welcome to join this national and international program. In addition to being donation collection points, we are also looking for locations willing to host a community, hands-on engagement activity where participants and guests are able to assemble the works. We are anticipating 10-12 large scale artworks to be created this year and will be unveiling the entire collection of Symbols of Hope in a traveling exhibit (location and date TBD).
Collaborators, participants, and donors will be provided photographic images of the completed work(s) as well as receive VIP invitations to attend the gallery opening event where the entire collection will be unveiled.
Please consider joining our efforts and sharing the attached flyer with others you feel would be interested in providing hopeful, uplifting, and meaningful community programming.
