Foundation for Women Warriors exists to serve women veterans and their children so that their next mission is clear and continues to impact the world. Our programs prevent homelessness and enhance the personal and economic well-being of women veterans and address the growing needs of the increasing population of military women transitioning to civilian life.
Our Women Veteran Emergency and Transition Service program is dedicated to the prevention of homelessness and providing the tools and opportunities for women veterans to grow the financial stability of their families. We do this through our regional and national services:
*Warrior Assistance – Provides financial stipends to eligible women veterans confronted with financial hardship. These stipends help with rent, utilities, and emergency car repairs. To ensure the utmost accountability, all subsidies are paid directly to the vendor. (Southern California and pilot program in Virginia)
*Childcare Assistance – Provides financial stipends to eligible women veterans to allow them to pursue their education, to maintain their employment, or allows them to actively interview to obtain more gainful employment. (Southern California and pilot program in Virginia)
*Warehouse Distribution – Provides women veteran families with free critical household good and baby items through our Vista and LA based warehouses. These items include hygiene supplies, diapers, wipes, children’s clothing, household supplies, and holiday distributions. (Southern California)
*Warrior Connect – Provides necessary information and referrals regarding additional services and a warm introduction to our partner agencies. Referrals can be for a variety of assistance types including legal services, job skills training and mental health in a geographically desirable location. (National)
*Women Veterans Lead (formerly Connect with Community) – Provides personal and professional development opportunities both in-person and online for our national community of women warriors. Through this program, women veterans build meaningful relationships with their veteran sisters, enhance their financial and personal wellness through educational forums and courses, network with corporate partners like HP, Verizon, Google, Fortune, as well as gain access to community leadership opportunities and more.
