Women in the military community have a long history of service and leadership. The Policy Circle is helping women take that experience into their communities through its Military Initiative and Civic Leadership Engagement Roadmap (CLER).
CLER is a self-paced, hands-on leadership program designed to help participants grow from having a general understanding of civic issues to becoming more engaged civic leaders. The program includes one-on-one coaching, peer mastermind groups, networking opportunities, and activities that help participants build connections with local policy leaders and decision-makers.
Through its Military Initiative, The Policy Circle offers women on active duty, veterans, military spouses, and military family members the opportunity to apply for an award that covers the cost of the CLER curriculum.
Three Leadership Courses
The CLER program offers three different courses based on participants’ interests and experience.
CLER 1.0: Founding Principles & Local Government provides a foundation for understanding how local government works and encourages participants to become more involved in their communities.
CLER 2.0: State & Federal helps graduates of CLER 1.0 take their civic involvement to the next level by learning more about engagement at the state and federal levels. This course is invitation only.
CLER: Education provides participants with tools and information to become education advocates within their communities.
