CEA’s Professional Edge Series

The City of Sacramento’s Cares WRP grant has funded California Employers Association’s (CEA) job readiness training program Professional Edge. Professional Edge is focused on the job readiness and essential skills training for adults that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic. Professional Edge is comprised of a series of 12 training given over a three weeks dedicated to assisting challenged unemployed and dislocated workers during their career transition by offering resources, skills, and opportunities to gaining successful employment.

For over a decade, California Employers Association (CEA) has partnered with numerous Workforce Development Boards (WDB) and government agencies throughout the State providing training and employers forums. Our experience in Job Readiness and Job Retention training development ranges from Professional Edge training for the disenfranchised to the highly skilled  jobseeker. Professional Edge programs target all levels of jobseekers eligible for our grant funding. Professional Edge has had over 4,000 job seekers go through the training with 85% employed within 2 months of completing the series..

CEA’s Professional Edge Series offers training that understands employer’s expectations when hiring there workforce. The topics covered in this interactive virtual training include customer service skills, communication, self-leadership, work ethics and how to get a job in today’s economy. The next training begins on Tuesday, October 20th. The training includes:

  • 24 hours of interactive virtual training with the goal of getting hired
  • A StrengthsFinder2.0 assessment to identify innate talents and build confidence
  • Contemporary job search strategies
  • Leadership and Essential Skills employers need today
  • A Virtual Career Networking Event
  • Experience working with social media tools such as Linked In, Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Networking Skills
  • Placement in OJT or trade training programs
