In celebration of Women’s Military History Week, the California Employment Development Department (EDD), Workforce Services Branch, Sacramento Field Office held a special recognition ceremony on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, to honor the service and dedication of five outstanding employees who are also women veterans.

These remarkable women were awarded Certificates of Excellence, acknowledging both their continued contributions to the people of California and their honorable military service to our nation. Each certificate served as a powerful reminder of the valuable perspective and resilience women veterans bring to the workforce every day.

This recognition not only celebrated their achievements within EDD but also highlighted the broader importance of honoring women veterans across all sectors. Their dual service, first in uniform and now in public service, demonstrates a lifelong commitment to making a difference.

The event concluded with a sweet show of appreciation: cupcakes for the entire staff, creating a joyful moment of community and gratitude.

At Women Veterans Alliance, we applaud EDD’s efforts to recognize and uplift women veterans in their organization. Moments like these matter, reminding us of the importance of visibility, appreciation, and inclusion in the workplace.

Let’s continue to celebrate and support the women who have served and continue to serve our communities and country.
