At the Unconference last month we had a breakout panel discussion regarding veterans education benefits. Thank you to Daniel Avegalio ,Marine Corps Veteran from American River College Veterans Resource Center and Megan Kennedy, Army Veteran from UC Davis
Admissions for leading this discussion and to breakout sponsor Golden Gate University.
If you are interested in going to back to school or looking at transferring your benefits to your child, I would highly recommend reaching out to the Veterans Resource office at your local college campus. There are many schooling options out there and look for a school that will work best for you.
We want to thank the following schools for empowering women veterans at the Unconference last month. These schools will be highlighted this week on our social media channels.

Funding for Veteran Centers on Campus
On April 27th, veterans and supporters went to the California State Capital in support of “Operation Veteran Resource Center” where they were able to gain momentum to get state funding for all Veteran Resource Centers in the state. There is still more that needs to be done.
May 17th at 9am in Room 444 at the California State Capital there is a Senate hearing regarding this funding. Veterans and supporters are encouraged to attend. At the end of the hearing there will be a public comments time period and those in attendance can come up to the microphone and state that they support getting funding for Veteran Resource Centers.
Be a part of the this movement!
