Women Veterans
When people think of veterans, they usually don't think about the countless women that have also made the sacrifice to serve. What is troubling, is the women that have served that do not consider themselves a veteran. The reasons :
- Veterans are from the Vietnam era
- Did not serve in combat
- Never left CONUS (Continental United States)
- "Just" did 2 or 3 years
- Was in during peace time
- Was told I am not a veteran
- Joined to pay for my education
Support Women Veterans
A key component that Women Veterans Alliance is building is a strong community of quality resources to help connect women with their benefits and opportunity. We have developed the Women Veterans Alliance Patriotic Member program where you can partner with us year long.
This is a yearly partnership helping to provide opportunity to women that have made the sacrifice to serve our country.
As a women veteran, I wanted to support The Women Veterans Alliance as much as I could once I discovered it. When I separated, there was not much support for women veterans and am thrilled to have found this. I will continue to try to support as I feel your mission is critical and supports a critical veteran community and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. ~ Alisa S., Air Force Veteran
Ladies, if you served in the military, you are veteran.
There are so many programs and resources that are available out there for women veterans that are under utilized because women do not self identify as Veterans.
