On behalf of the National LATINA Symposium, I am honored to announce the launch of the National Heroes Awards, an inspiring evolution of our LATINA Style Hero Initiative, first established in 2012. Over the years, we have proudly recognized the outstanding contributions of active Latina service members and Veterans. Today, this initiative expands to celebrate a broader group of remarkable individuals who embody resilience, excellence, and selfless service.
This national awards program honors the strength, service, and invaluable contributions of Veterans, Veteran First Responders, Military Spouses, and Civilian Heroes, celebrating their invaluable contributions to our communities and our nation. Through this initiative, LATINA Style continues its mission to uplift those whose courage, perseverance, and service inspire positive change.
Each day, these extraordinary individuals demonstrate unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and a commitment to uplifting others. Their selfless service deserves recognition that goes beyond words, calls for meaningful action. Through this awards program, we aim to celebrate their contributions and preserve their stories of resilience and leadership for generations to come.
We invite you to join us in this meaningful mission by nominating individuals for the following categories:
- Veterans: Latinas, women of all backgrounds, and men who have served in the military and continue to make a meaningful impact in their communities through leadership, service, and civic engagement beyond their military careers.
- Veteran First Responders: Military veterans serving as firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, and emergency personnel.
- Military Spouses: The unwavering supporters of military families and communities whose dedication often goes unrecognized.
- Civilian Heroes: Individuals who have demonstrated exceptional courage, service, and community leadership through acts of heroism and service.
The National Heroes Awards will be hosted as a nationwide virtual ceremony on September 18, 2025, bringing together honorees, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate the achievements and impact of these incredible individuals.
