National Veterans Memorial and Museum – Veteran Biography Project

I am with the production company, Tru Films . We are working in partnership with the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation (CDDC) and Ralph Applebaum Associates (RAA) on media content for the new National Veterans Memorial & Museum in Ohio, slated to open on July, 4th 2018. RAA has commissioned media content for a number of innovative museums including the National Museum of African American History of Culture, National World War I Museum and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and this museum is their most recent and ambitious endeavor.

We are truly excited to be creating content for this meaningful project that will be an unprecedented tribute to Veterans and their diverse experiences, as well as a landmark memorial in Ohio. Although the museum will focus on Veterans experiences from some of the earliest American battles, the primary focus will be on the younger generation of Veterans from the Gulf War, Iraq an Afghanistan.

In creating content for the project and in searching for interview subjects, we are looking for articulate, compelling storytellers who are authentic and diverse in service experience, ethnicity and age. During the interview, we’ll ask Veterans questions about a variety of subject matters regarding their service and transition to veteran life.

We will be doing a series of interviews with Veterans in two additional cities across the U.S. with the following tentative schedule:

Week of October 12th: We will be shooting over a 2 to 3 day period in NYC

October 2nd and 3rd: We will be shooting over a 2 to 3 day period in Columbus, Ohio

Please let me know if you have any particular veterans in mind that may be interested in participating in the project. Below is a link to a form we are sending to any interested veterans so please feel free to share that too:
