Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship and Merit Based Grant

Sentinels of Freedom is a nationwide organization that identifies, mentors, and financially assists Post-9/11 Veterans with severe service-connected disabilities as they transition to civilian life and pursue higher education. They offer a scholarship and a merit based grant.

Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship

The Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship is a 2-4 year nationwide scholarship that supports severely wounded and injured Post-9/11 Veterans.

Key Benefits: Beyond a housing subsidy to fill gaps in Chapter 31 or Chapter 33 GI-Bill payments, Veterans are offered mentoring and networking opportunities, as well financial coaching.

Key Requirements:

1.) VA disability rating of 50% or higher

2.) Received or will receive an honorable discharge

3.) Enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a VA approved school.

Please encourage eligible Veterans to apply at https://sof-scholarships.fluidreview.com. Applications are accepted at any time but there are two primary admission deadlines: June 1 for fall semester and November 1 for spring semester.

 

Sentinels of Freedom Merit Based Grant

Sentinels of Freedom also have a one-time monetary award of $1,000 to be used for educational purposes, such as books, computers, tutoring expenses, etc.

Key Requirements:

1.) VA disability rating of 30% or higher

2.) Received or will receive an honorable discharge

3.) Enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a VA approved school.
