The Independence Project

Introducing you to the Independence Project that helps U.S. Veterans plan their post-service path, coaches them through landing a great job, and rewards them for success.

Specifically this research program is designed to help veterans with disabilities find work after service. Their goal is to recruit 400 transitioning Service Members and military Veterans with disability ratings. With your assistance and outreach efforts you can assist them in achieving this goal.

Veterans in the Independence Project get national or local employment services, either through the National Career Coaching Program or Local Community Resources Program. Participants also receive up to $320 for completing research telephone interviews.

To qualify, participants need to be:

  • Interested in getting a job
  • Discharged in the past 12 months OR have a discharge date in the next 8 months
  • Served at least 6 months of active duty
  • Be/Have been an enlisted service-member between ranks E1 – E9
  • Have applied for a disability rating
  • Under 45 years of age
