Two new job postings at VetBiz Central:

#1 – Job Description &Title: Full-Time Business Consultant and Webinar Program Manager

VetBiz Central, Inc. 1401 E. Court St. Regional Technology Center, Flint, MI 48503 Mott Community College RTC Building

Job Mission: Provide Business Consulting & Webinar Training & Programming Services. Applicant will maintain and develop outreach and counseling/education programs. Applicant will plan and implement webinar trainings with resource partners, maintain social media platforms and help oversee daily agency operations. 

Key responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and develop a computerized client and prospect database.
  2. Provide pre venture start up business counseling with veterans, National Guard & reserve members, and military spouses. 
  3. Attend and host networking exhibit table at resource partner networking events.   
  4. Develop and maintain GotoWebinar program, seek Subject Matter Experts (SME) to partner with VetBizCentral on webinars and maintain schedule, registrants and attendees.
  5. Follow-up with each client at the 30-, 60-, 90- and 120-day mark to determine status of case. Record milestones such as business starts, capital formation, and contracts awarded.
  6. Develop and maintain networking relationships with various agency partners, including Small Business Administration District Offices, Small Business Development Centers, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, SCORE and other Veteran and Entrepreneur Mission Focused Non-Profit organizations.  
  7. Identify and bring to the attention of Executive Director training opportunities related to entrepreneurial/procurement development, 
  8. Manage and update VetBizCentral Website and Social Media Platforms.
  9. Report directly to Executive Director all webinars, events, and social media plans.

#2 – Title: Boot to Business & Reboots Program Manager/Business Consultant-Full time
Grant Funded Position: U.S. SBA- Office of Veteran Business Development

Reports To: Executive Director, VetBizCentral, Inc.

Based At: 1401 East Court Street, Mott Community College, Flint Michigan, 48503

Job Mission: To assist Executive Director in carrying out VetBizCentral’s mission, to maintain and develop outreach and counseling/education programs under the US Small Business Administration’s Office of Veteran Business Development within the State of Michigan Ohio, and Indiana

This position requires 50% travel (Michigan, Ohio and Indiana)

Position responsibilities:

  • Training delivery For Small Business Administration’s Boots to Business & Reboots program
  • Counsel prospective veteran entrepreneurs on starting a business utilizing various VetBiz Central programs, tools and resource
  • Follow-up with client at the 30- 60- 90- and 120-day mark to determine status of case. 
  • Develop, schedule and implement entrepreneurial/educational opportunities for veterans, Guard and Reserve members and active-duty members. These include but are not limited to in-person counseling, internet communications, webinars, workshops, and conferences
  • Work with SBA resource partners including Small Business Development Centers, Women’s Business Centers, and SCORE (others)
  • Develop and maintain networking relationships with various agency partners, including the SBA District office, the SBA Office of Veterans Business Development, Veteran Service Organizations, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers of Michigan, Small Business Development Centers, and Educational Institutions
  • Identify and bring to the attention of Executive Director training opportunities related to entrepreneurial/procurement development or those that might otherwise be beneficial to agency’s staff
  • Assist Director and other staff members in developing an annual strategic plan for outreach within the region (Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana)
  • At the director’s request/absence, attend meetings of various agencies and organizations that focus on entrepreneurship and overall veteran members wellness
